Spotlight on One of Our Own: David Haight

John Muir once stated: “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” That beautiful and poignant sentiment is one of the main reasons so many people love to visit, move to, and grow multi-generational roots in the mountains of North Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. At nearly any point you are likely within about a 10-15 minute drive from a quiet trail, the mighty Toccoa/Ocoee, a peaceful lake or waterfall, or a serene mountain view.

The Benton MacKaye Trail and the Appalachian Trail are two of the most noteworthy hiking trails in the area; however, there are dozens of other small trails for families or more advanced mountaineers to explore. It is the step away from the hustle and bustle that soaks into the soul and brings people back to this area again and again.

One of our own at Mountain Place Realty, David Haight, understands this to the core. David Haight is an avid adventurist and nature lover. He is a local developer and husband of broker/owner Rhonda Haight. David Haight was raised in Blue Ridge with his family having ties to the Blue Ridge for many generations. He is an Army Veteran, and he accomplished a feat that many aspire to many years ago. He thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and that experience forever changed his life and solidified his love for nature.

David’s favorite hike locally is Blood Mountain. We, at Mountain Place Realty, hope that you enjoy all of the nature this area has to offer on your next visit.
