Hit the Trail this Spring: Preacher's Rock

If you are looking for a place to enjoy expansive views of the beautiful mountains of Appalachia then head toward Preacher’s Rock on your next visit! The drive from Blue Ridge along GA Highway 60 passes by scenic countryside and parts of North Georgia largely untouched by development.

Once you arrive at the trailhead there is a large parking area with a restroom. This 2 mile roundtrip hike is one of the easiest trails to enjoy in the area! It is moderately difficult but considered family friendly!

Beautiful views of Woody Gap await as you work your way toward the summit of Big Cedar Mountain. Once you reach Preacher’s Rock there is a large clifface is plenty of space to spread out. One of the best ways to enjoy the full beauty of this trail is to go just before sunrise!
