The City of Blue Ridge is working on renovations to the downtown park. They have received $130,000 dollars from the Vaughn-Jordan Foundation for the beautification of the park. A grant from the Kiwanis Club to use on new playground equipment is also in the works.
The bear was removed to the Farmers Market for restoration; the bottom base of the bear had termites and ant damage. The City of Blue Ridge is hoping to be able to restore it, and the bear will be put back in its home once the improvements of the park take place.
